Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin believes that Inter are having a solid season, and that it could well become a great one depending on how the next few weeks go for them.

Writing in his column for Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Biasin disputed the idea that it has been a disappointing campaign for the Nerazzurri and suggested that they still have a chance to make it a great one.

Inter have already secured the objectives that they had set out for themselves at the start of the season, finishing in a top four spot as well as having reached the round of sixteen in the Champions League.

Victory in the Supercoppa Italiana against Juventus also arrived in January, whilst they will face the Bianconeri in the Coppa Italia final next week, and can still win the Scudetto if AC Milan let them in with a slip-up.

Biasin feels that, on balance, it’s been a good season for the Nerazzurri and that the final assessments have yet to be written.

“I’ve heard that without the Scudetto, Inter will have to be acquainted with the term ‘failure,'” he writes. “How many exaggerations are there in the world of football?”

“Inter are having a good season that can become extraordinary if they win the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia,” he goes on, “or bitter in the case of second place and defeat in the Coppa.”

“But it’s absurd to talk about failure,” he adds, “especially after seeing how the Nerazzurri responded to the flop against Bologna. Inzaghi is doing a top job, if anyone can’t see that it’s their problem.”
