Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has worked well to develop the player signed last summer, and to raise the overall level and value of the squad.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who note that the “Inzaghi effect” has raised the total value of the players signed by the Nerazzurri last summer to the tune of €65 million.

The Nerazzurri brought in four major signings in the form of Hakan Calhanoglu, Denzel Dumfries, Joaquin Correa, and Edin Dzeko as they aimed to replace the major departures of Achraf Hakimi, Romelu Lukaku, and Chrisitan Eriksen.

The coach has been tasked with getting the best out of players signed within budgetary constraints, and he has done well to get them looking like top players with values much higher than what the Nerazzurri payed for them.

Dumfries was purchased for €15 million from PSV, and already after just one season under Inzaghi the 26-year-old looks to be clearly worth at least €20 million more than that.

Calhanoglu, brought in on a free transfer from AC Milan, now has a market value of around €35 million, whilst Federico Dimarco should be worth at least €20 million following his loan return from Hellas Verona.

Dzeko’s market valuation is not high given his age, although Inzaghi will be happy with the thirteen goals and seven assists notched by the Bosnian over the course of the season so far, an improvement from his last season with Roma.

The one sore spot will be the failure of Joaquin Correa to really kick on after being reunited with his former Lazio coach Inzaghi in the summer, partly due to injury, although the coach could still aim to get him firing in subsequent seasons.
