Inter-owned striker Andrea Pinamonti is set to return to San Siro with Empoli tomorrow, and playing against his parent club will be emotional but he wants to show his best form.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI Radio, the 22-year-old stated that he wants to show what he’s capable of in front of the home fans at the stadium of his parent club.

Pinamonti has been showing great form on loan with newly-promoted Empoli this campaign, scoring twelve goals so far to make him the Tuscans’ top scorer so far in the season.

However, he retains a strong connection to the Nerazzurri, and has not been shy about admitting that he’s rooting for his boyhood club in the title race, including when he scored a brace against Scudetto rivals Napoli.

In spite of this, there is no thought of holding back when his team visit the San Siro tomorrow, and he’ll be doing everything to keep his great run of form going.

“It will certainly be very emotional returning to San Siro and seeing my former teammates,” Pinamonti said. “Nevertheless, I’m an Empoli player, we will all face the match in the best possible way because, despite having secured safety, we want to do well because it’s important, we want to show off and play our game.”
