Pescara President Daniele Sebastiani feels that while Inter’s two remaining matches are less formidable than AC Milan’s, the Rossoneri still have what it takes to win and beat them to the Scudetto.
Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Sebastiani gave the view that the fixture list could come into play but that the Rossoneri are also capable of simply pushing on and winning both of their matches starting with Atalanta next weekend.
Inter beat Empoli on Friday before their city rivals responded with a comeback win over Hellas Verona yesterday evening, and so the Rossoneri’s advantage at the top of the Serie A table remains intact.
The Nerazzurri must not only beat Cagliari and Sampdoria in their two remaining matches to overtake their city rivals but also depend on Atalanta and Sassuolo to take three points off of the Rossoneri between them.
On paper, Milan dropping points is likelier than Inter doing so, but Sebastiani feels that this is not necessarily clear.
“If Milan overcome the obstacle of Atalanta they’ll have taken a big step,” he said. “But Inter have the easier fixture list. Both are in good form.”
