Former Inter goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca has said he would do everything to keep Ivan Perisic at the club this summer, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
Speaking during an interview with Sky Sport, via FCInternews, Gianluca Pagliuca suggested that Inter need to give Ivan Perisic whatever he requires to make sure he stays at the club next season and does not go to a direct rival.
“He is a different player, before he was more inconsistent. Now he has been doing very well for years; if I were the club, I would do everything to keep him. Losing him would run the risk of giving him away to a direct competitor.”
Ivan Perisic scored a penalty and a long range strike against Juventus on Wednesday evening to help his team win the Coppa Italia for the first time in 11 years.
Within the game, Samir Handanovic made a great save from a Dusan Vlahovic chance in the first half. Gianluca Pagliuca said that he hasn’t seen him make a save like that for a while.
“A fantastic save, I haven’t seen him make one like that in a while.”
He also added that the Slovenian goalkeeper was not completely at fault for Alex Sandro’s goal: “On the equaliser he was deceived by a slight deflection.”
