Inter are not set to make more than one big name sale this summer as their finances look to be in much better shape than was the case during last summer’s transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will not make two major sales as they did last time around.

The return of fans to stadiums has meant an important boost in revenues for Inter, with €40 million collected between gate receipts and season tickets, whilst participation in the Champions League netted the club around €50 million.

Adding the total €10 million value of winning the Coppa Italia and the revenues from the major sales last summer, and the losses reported this season are far less than were the case last campaign.

Last time around the Nerazzurri reported €261 million in staff expenses and €137 million in amortization, whilst this season those numbers will be around €160 million and €100 million respectively.

Compared to the nearly €250 million in losses last season, less than €100 million are forecast for this season.

A big name sale could still be required to make up for the losses as was the case last summer, but given that the scale of the losses is so much smaller, there will be no need for two major departures.
