Sampdoria head coach Marco Giampaolo feels that his team will not be the main obstacle to Inter winning the Serie A title tomorrow.
Speaking in a press conference today, as reported by FCInter1908, Giampaolo gave the view that the Nerazzurri’s Scudetto hopes will turn as much on the result in AC Milan’s match against Sassuolo as it will on whether or not his team get a result.
Inter absolutely must beat Sampdoria tomorrow evening if they are to have any hope of winning the Serie A title on the final day of the season.
However, this is not the only thing that must happen, as three points would not be enough for the Nerazzurri if their city rivals get even point in their match away to Sassuolo.
Accordingly, Giampaolo was keen to emphasize that while his team will do everything they can to win tomorrow, he doesn’t see them as playing to spoil Inter’s title hopes.
“Inter must win to have any hope of winning the Scudetto,” the coach said, “but it depends on Milan. The fixture list has us as their obstacle on the last day, but I don’t think we’ll be the ones to deny them.”
