Inter are convinced that they have secured the signature but AS Roma think that they can persuade the midfielder to stay with them, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, Inter have made the Armenian midfielder a contract offer that they think will be enough to secure him.

He would only make the trip to carry out his medical once he has recovered from the thigh injury that saw him come off in the UEFA Conference League Final on Wednesday night.

On the other hand, his current club feel that they can convince the former Manchester United man to stay with them and sign a new contract, mainly through the persuasive skills of Jose Mourinho.

Simone Inzaghi wants to use Henrikh Mkhitaryan as a rotation option in midfield with Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella next season but he can also play in the attack if needed.
