Inter could move for Federico Bernardeschi on a free transfer this summer in order to reinforce the left-wingback position now that Ivan Perisic is set to leave to join Tottenham Hotspur.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 28-year-old is a consideration for Robin Gosens’s deputy ahead of next season.
Bernardeschi will be available on a free transfer this summer as his exit from Juventus at the end of his contract has been confirmed, and the Nerazzurri are thinking about taking advantage with CEO Beppe Marotta particularly keen.
The midfielder is particularly appreciated for his versatility, as he can play in midfielder, across the front-line, and even at wingback.
It is the latter profile for which the Nerazzurri are now considering Bernardeschi, as his arrival could add depth in the wide left position following Perisic’s imminent departure, while his net €3 million wages would be a significant reduction from what the Croat earned.
