Inter should officially announce the extension of coach Simone Inzaghi’s contract within the next few days.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are set to complete the deal to extend the 46-year-old’s deal either tomorrow or Tuesday.

Extending Inzaghi’s contract is the first order of business for the Nerazzurri during the summer transfer window, with the club having long been convinced that he is the man they want to stick with heading into the future.

The former Lazio coach’s current contract is set to expire at the end of June 2023, but after his first season in charge the club have no doubts about securing him for the longer term.

The Nerazzurri did not get a new agreement with Inzaghi over the line during the season as the focus was entirely on the pitch, but now that the season is in the rear-view mirror they are not wasting time securing the coach’s future, which should be made official soon.
