Italian agent Gicondo Martorelli believes that Inter have already done one of their most important pieces of summer transfer business by signing Robin Gosens from Atalanta in Jnuary.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, Martorelli compared the Nerazzurri’s signing of the German to Juventus securing the signature of striker Dusan Vlahovic during the January transfer window.

Inter will see Ivan Perisic depart at the end of his current contract, and while they will still have to replace the 33-year-old, they will not be scrambling to find a starting quality player on the left as Gosens has long been identified as this player.

The Nerazzurri had spent the January window searching for a left-sided player, with the coach and directors having seen it as a priority for strengthening the team, and they eventually decided upon Gosens as the best possible option in the role, and so they will be relying on him to take the step up and fill the void left by Perisic next season.

Martorelli pointed out that “Already in January, Juventus made an important signing for next season in Vlahovic, and also Inter with Gosens.”
