Inter will not walk away from negotiations with Chelsea for a return of striker Romelu Lukaku if there is only a difference in evaluation of €5-10 million between the clubs.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that there is a serious will on the part of the Nerazzurri to complete the deal even though talks with Chelsea will be complicated.
There is no issue of Inter agreeing a contract with Lukaku, with the striker’s agent Sebastien Ledure having met with the club yesterday.
Talks established quickly that if the Belgian is to receive €7.5 million net per season, something he would happily agree to, then the Nerazzurri will still be paying him the same gross wages (€12 million per season) as Lautaro Martinez, Marcelo Brozovic, and Nicolo Barella.
Agreeing a deal with Chelsea will be trickier however given the scale of the Premier League team’s investment last summer and the financial restrictions that Inter face.
The Nerazzurri can only possibly sign Lukaku back on loan, but they would be ready to make it a paid loan with a creative formula, and if the difference between them and Chelsea is €5-10 million they will not walk away from talks.
