The decision taken by Chelsea’s new owners will ultimately be decisive in determining whether Inter will be able to sign Romelu Lukaku back on loan this summer.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Nerazzurri and Lukaku are both ready to go ahead with a deal but that everything will depend on whether the Blues’ new ownership are willing to sanction the deal.
Chelsea’s takeover by new owner Todd Boehly was recently completed, and the American businessman will have a major decision to make on how he wants to deal with Lukaku’s situation.
The 29-year-old has not settled in since his big money move last summer, and has been vocal about wanting a return to the Nerazzurri.
Opening up to letting the Belgian leave on a loan deal that would be feasible for Inter would be a tough ask for the new Blues owner but he could reluctantly agree in order to avoid potential issues with the striker next season.
At any rate, Lukaku and Inter have agreed terms and are ready to work together on a deal, and it is up to Chelsea to either cooperate or turn down the possibility of a deal.
