Basel still haven’t given up on the possibility of loaning Inter striker Sebastiano Esposito in again next season under the same terms as the season just gone.

This according to today’s print edition of German-language Swiss newspaper Blick!, who report that the Swiss side would like to loan Esposito again but that the Nerazzurri are reluctant to loan him under the same terms.

Esposito had an up-and-down season at Basel, marked by disciplinary issues at points but ultimately impressed with his performances and goals.

Based on this, the Swiss team are hoping that they can continue to have the 19-year-old in their squad for next season, although activating the clause in his loan deal that would make the move permanent would be too costly for them.

Basel are persisting with the request to loan Esposito again next season in the hopes that the Nerazzurri’s stance will soften and they will let him re-join the Swiss side under the same terms.
