Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is to make clear to the club that he is not in favour of a sale of defender Alessandro Bastoni in a meeting this week.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the coach will give the club his position when he meets with the club directors today or tomorrow at the latest.

The Nerazzurri are set to hold another summit on their transfer strategy for the summer window in the next day or two, and Bastoni’s future will be a major theme of the talks.

The 23-year-old is currently the player most strongly linked with an exit as a big name sale looks inevitable as the Nerazzurri pursue financial targets during the summer window.

The coach still feels that Bastoni is an important tactical piece for his team, and while he will not stand in the way of a sale as he would be ready to work with a replacement as well as Federico Dimarco in the role, he hopes to convince the club to find another way.
