Inter are still some way away from agreeing a mutual termination of the contract of forward Alexis Sanchez.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that further talks will be needed before the Nerazzurri can convince the Chilean on terms of a departure this summer.

Inter do not consider Sanchez a part of their plans for next season, and they have been working to find an agreement with him to leave the club despite the fact that his current deal runs until the end of June 2023.

A severance pay agreement looks to be the likely way that the 33-year-old will be persuaded to depart before the end of his current deal, but this still needs to be worked out in further talks.

Inter are aiming to reduce wage spending this summer as one of the major points in their financial goals for the transfer window, and Sanchez is currently among the highest earners at the club.
