Around three to six weeks of recovery time will be needed for Inter defender Milan Skriniar to put the muscle injury sustained on Monday behind him.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 27-year-old will be working to return to fitness during his holiday, and could have his return to preseason training delayed slightly.

Skriniar had to leave the pitch in considerable pain late in the first half of Slovakia’s Nations League clash with Kazakhstan on Monday evening, leading to worries that he may have picked up a serious injury.

Medical tests yesterday determined that the problem was nothing more than a muscle injury, but it will still take some time for the Slovak defender to recover.

Since the squad are not expected back in training until the end of next month, Skriniar will go on holiday, where he will aim to return to fitness in a timely fashion but without any rush, and he could arrive back in training later than some of his teammates.
