AS Roma legend Francesco Totti has said that he never expected Romelu Lukaku to return to Inter this summer but Simone Inzaghi will be happy about it, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview with Sky Sport, via FCInternews, Francesco Totti admitted that he thought Romelu Lukaku would choose a different club to Inter to try and get his career back on track.

“I never expected Lukaku to return, I thought he would choose another club. If he wants to return to Inter it’s because he’s had a good time, because he’s won and wants to continue winning.”

He then added that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will be very happy to have the Belgian striker at his disposal, especially given the player was sold by Inter shortly after Simone Inzaghi had had his first training sessions with the Chelsea striker.

“A very respectable choice, welcome for Inter. Lukaku moves a lot in Italy, and then on a physical level he is amazing, even if you don’t know who he will play with. Simone Inzaghi will be happy that he will have this extra player.”

It seems very likely that Romelu Lukaku will be coming back to Inter on a one-year loan for a fee of around €10 million. He will be reducing his salary by almost half to make the move work.
