Inter Defender Lorenzo Pirola Close To Joining Salernitana On Loan With Purchase Obligation, Italian Media Report

Inter defender Lorenzo Pirola is getting close to joining Salernitana on loan next season, with the deal containing an obgliation for a permanent sale next summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that it looks to be the Campanians who are set to win the race for the 20-year-old.

Pirola spent the past two seasons with Monza, helping the Lombard team to an historic promotion to Serie A over the campaign just gone, but the newly-promoted team decided against making the deal permanent.

Monza were still interested in signing Pirola on a permanent basis, but asked Inter for a discount on the fee for a deal, leaving the door open for other clubs to potentially sign the defender.

Salernitana were among the teams keen on the 20-year-old to strengthen for their second season back in Serie A, and they are set to bring him in on loan with a purchase obligation.
