Legendary former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta is glad that Romelu Lukaku is back in Serie A, not just for his qualities on the pitch, but also for his personality.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the former defender noted that the Belgian has never been a shy character and suggested that he will add to the entertainment of the league with his confidence.

Lukaku spent two seasons at Inter where he was one of the standout players in the Italian top flight, and apart from the quality of his football and his contributions of goals and assists, also forged a strong connection with fans.

The loss following his big money move to Chelsea last summer was not just felt in terms of his technical quality, but also in the memorable moments that he could conjure up with his celebrations, as well as with his being unafraid of a little confrontation as Costacurta notes.

“I’m happy because, in addition to being very good as a player, he’s someone who I really like how he conducts himself on the pitch,” the former defender said.

“He’s a wonderful character in every sense,” he added, “he’ll add spice to the league.”

“On the other hand, if he starts arguing with Zlatan,” he then said with a laugh.
