Inter wingback Robin Gosens has won the German gameshow Schlag den Star, donating his winnings to charity, and he is very pleased to have had the chance to experience it.

Writing in a post after the victory on his Instagram account, the 27-year-old gave his thoughts on what winning the competition, which saw him prevail over Icelandic former footballer Rurik Gislason, meant to him.

Gosens has had an eventful period away from football as he rests up from the season and recharges in preparation for the return to preseason and then the start of the upcoming Serie A campaign with the Nerazzurri, his first full season with the club.

The German has gotten married, completed a triathalon, and now enjoyed a successful participation in the popular German gameshow Schlag den Star.

“What a great experience,” the German wrote. “It was a lot of fun, between throwing the hammer, Musical Memory, and Street Racket, I’ve certainly gotten to know myself better.”

Gosens commented on his motivation for participating in the competition, and why winning was special to him, writing that “I’m very happy with this victory because I will be able to continue doing good things with my foundation ‘Traumen Lohnt Sich’ and help many children.”

“And I’m incredibly grateful,” the German added of the experience, “because yesterday I met a wonderful person who’s not just a great athlete, but above all a great person, in the form of Gislason.”
