Italian journalist Matteo Marani believes that as things stand Inter are the team to have had the most impactful transfer window among clubs in Serie A.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Marani analyzed the transfer market so far this summer and argued that while there is plenty yet to happen, so far the Nerazzurri have improved their team the most.
Inter have not been shy about making signings this summer, with several players’ arrivals having already been officially announced whilst one or two more signings are still anticipated.
Few exits have yet been confirmed, and a big money sale of a player like Milan Skriniar will have to be taken into account as far as how well the Nerazzurri have done in the transfer window.
However, for Marani the focus is on the quality of the signings that Inter have made, and for him they compare favourably to their rivals in this regard.
“At the moment Inter are the team who are ahead of the others, in the sense that the bulk of their signings have already been made,” he said.
“Lukaku is one of those signings that shifts the balance,” Marani argued, “then we will see the responses from the other clubs. Inter has guaranteed the return of a player who has shifted the league with his 24 goals.”
“I’ll say only two things,” he continued about the Belgian, “returning somewhere you’ve succeeded in the past is never easy, the other aspect concerns the tactical question that Inzaghi will have already thought about, because last year’s Inter played with a higher line than Conte’s team.”
“Asllani is a necessary purchase because he’ll be a deputy to Brozovic,” Marani noted, “now we will see what happens in defense – it remains to be seen who leaves and who arrives.”
