Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani put in an excellent showing in his first training match with the Nerazzurri yesterday.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Inter new boy impressed and bagged a goal during the match held during yesterday’s training session.

Asllani’s move to Inter from Empoli was confirmed just a few days ago, but the Albanian is wasting no time getting acclimated to his new encironment.

The 20-year-old has been signed to give the team a real deputy to Marcelo Brozovic in the deepest role in midfield, and he looked to already be adept in performing this function as he started getting up to speed building chemistry with his new teammates yesterday.

Additionally, the young Albanian also bagged a goal with a well-timed run into the penalty area and precise finish, capping off his performance.

Brozovic has shown that even when playing in a deep role keeping the team ticking over he can make goalscoring forays forwards, and if this is also a regular dimension of Asllani’s game then he could well prove to be an excellent understudy to the Croat.
