Inter wingback Dalbert is going to cost the club €8.1 million in total over the course of the 2022/23 season after his recent injury, according to a report in the Italian media.
As has been reported by Calcio e Finanza, the news about Dalbert’s injury is bad news for Inter who were hoping to sell the Brazilian this summer.
It was announced on Thursday that he has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury whilst training by himself in Brazil. He will have to undergo surgery and will be out of action for many months.
That means that the chances of selling him are effectively over and Inter will have to continue paying his salary for another season.
The player’s amortised value on Inter’s balance sheet for the fiscal year ending June 30 2022/23 currently stands at €5.835 million. His gross salary at Inter for the next year at the club will be €2.2 million which means that in total, he will be costing Inter €8.1 million in 2022/23 as they could have sold him and not paid the salary.
