Sampdoria defender Tommaso Augello has said that scoring against Inter was very special for him, according to a report in the Italian media.
Speaking to journalists whilst at the Ligurian sides’ training camp, via FCInternews, Tommaso Augello picked out some of his favourite goals from last season and he chose the one against Inter.
The Italian scored against the Nerazzurri in a 2-2 draw at the Marassi early in the 2021/22 season. It was a half-volley at the far post which drew Sampdoria level and they managed to hold on for an impressive point.
He said it was a very special goal for him on a personal level: “Then scoring against Inter, for me personally, is something very special and very beautiful.”
He admitted though that it wasn’t his favourite moment of the season. That was the assist for Sabiri in the vital win over Genoa that went a long way to ensuring Sampdoria could stay in Serie A and that city rivals Genoa were sent down to Serie B.
“Definitely better the assist to Sabiri in the derby because it was the winning goal. Definitely that one.”
