Inter are not yet out of the race to sign Torino defender Bremer despite the insistent pressing of Juventus to sign him, but they are thinking about alternative options should they fail in their pursuit.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri still have hope but that they also have their main targets lined up in the event that the Brazilian joins the Bianconeri instead.

Juventus are expected to make their offer of around €40-45 million including add-ons for Bremer to Torino today, and their contract offer worth €4-4.5 million net per season to the player.

This is worth substantially more than what Inter have put on the plate for the player, and in the event that the distance between the two cash offers is €10 million or greater, the Granata will have little doubt as to who they will want to sell to.

However, Torino owner Urbano Cairo is well aware that there are other factors in play, including potential bitterness by supporters of his club if the Brazilian is sold to city rivals the Bianconeri, and the fact that the player has long aimed to join Inter.

The 25-year-old extended his Granata contract in the spring in order to give the Granata more leverage negotiating his sale this summer, and as part of the agreement he made clear that he wanted control over his future.

If the player’s preference remains a move to Inter, Cairo could feel some pressure to do everything that he can to agree a deal with the Nerazzurri or else be seen as walking back on his word to the player.

The ball could be in the court of the Nerazzurri then, as they know that the Bianconeri will formally make a big offer to Torino as well as to the player today and that they’re on the verge of missing out.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has been pressuring President Steven Zhang to make the deal happen even if it means going over budget, as he sees Bremer as an essential signing.

The coach’s insistence and his personal relationship with the President had been a key factor in moving the process of bringing back Romelu Lukaku along, and it could also play an important role in Inter’s chase of Bremer.
