Fiorentina General Manager Joe Barone says that they would like to keep Inter target Nikola Milenkovic at the club this summer, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with TMW, Joe Barone made no bones about the fact that La Viola would like to keep Nikola Milenkovic and they will be trying to offer him a new contract.

Inter may not even make a move for the Serbian just yet because they are wary of the fact that they will have to pay at least €15 million for a player that would be a rotation option rather than a starter now that Milan Skriniar appears to be staying at the club.

“Commisso and I want Milenkovic to stay, we are a good group. But it won’t be easy, we’ll see what happens if someone comes knocking saying they are interested in him. We want him to stay. The more days pass the better, but I can’t give any guarantees.”

There are other options that Inter are thinking of exploring such as Manuel Akanji or they could seek a younger player who would cost less money such as Empoli’s Mattia Viti or Arsenal’s Pablo Mari.
