Inter Consider Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic A Target But Only If Milan Skriniar Is Sold, Italian Broadcaster Reports

Inter see Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic as a target, but only as a replacement for Milan Skriniar in the event that the Slovakian is sold.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who report that the Nerazzurri have only lined up Milenkovic as an option in the event that a first-choice member of their back three is sold this summer, and that otherwise they will seek out a low-cost option to reinforce the defense.

Inter have been tracking Milenkovic closely for a good part of the summer transfer window, with their interest having particularly ignited when it looked as though Skriniar would likely be sold to Paris Saint-Germain.

Things are in place for a move to potentially be made for Milenkovic but only in the event that Skriniar is sold to PSG after all, whilst the preference at the club now is instead to keep the 27-year-old and extend his contract.

In the event that Skriniar stays a defender will still be signed, but Inter will wait until later in the transfer window to see what low-cost opportunities arise for a depth option to replace Andrea Ranocchia to be signed.
