Inter will play a friendly match against Serie C outfit Pergolettese during today’s training session.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Lombard team have been invited to the Nerazzurri’s training ground for the friendly clash as coach Simone Inzaghi feels that more match experience is needed ahead of the upcoming season.

Inter have already played four friendlies during preseason, starting with their traditional debut against Lugano and then facing a trio of French sides in Monaco, Lens, and Lyon, while they still have Villarreal to come next season before the season begins.

Inzaghi feels that these five matches will not be sufficient on their own to get his squad up to speed for the intense upcoming season which is now less than two weeks away, and so he has scheduled additional friendly matches in training.

The coach wants all of his player, including those who returned to training late due to extended time off following international duty, to arrive at the Nerazzurri’s Serie A opener against Lecce at their best.
