Inter could still listen to offers for the signature of defender Milan Skriniar even after they’ve officially kicked off their Serie A season with their opener away to Lecce.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the Nerazzurri would not necessarily have a deadline for taking the 27-year-old off the market when the season begins, and that he wouldn’t necessarily be unsellable until they make one more signing to finish their transfer window.
Inter have shifted gears from being open to negotiating a sale to looking much more inclined to keep the Slovakian, particularly after missing out on Torino’s Bremer to Juventus.
The strategy now appears to be to keep hold of the 27-year-old and then to make a low-cost signing to reinforce the defense, likely a player who can replace Andrea Ranocchia as a backup to Stefan de Vrij.
However, as long as they do not decide to commit to this strategy, the club could always be ready to change strategies again and listen to offers for Skriniar, opting instead of sign a replacement for the Slovakian.
