Former AC Milan and Napoli midfielder Roberto Donadoni believes that it will be Inter and Milan who fight it out at the top of the Serie A table once again in the upcoming season.
Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, Donadoni suggested that the two Milan clubs will be the two teams able to carry their momentum from last season over.
Last time around it was the Rossoneri who won the Scudetto, clinching it on the final day of the season with the Nerazzurri two points behind them, whilst Napoli and Juventus were a few points back.
This will mean that both are naturally seen as among the contenders for the title this time around, although many have pointed to the transfer window of Juventus as making the Bianconeri potential favourites.
For Donadoni, the proven quality of both Inter and Milan from last season still makes them joint favourites.
“They’re the two teams that, at the moment, I see more prepared and more organized,” he argued.
“The others teams still seem to have issues to address,” he continued. “Juve, for example, after having dominated for so many years, have faced some issues and are now still trying to find the right balance.”
