Inter-linked defender Nikola Milenkovic is now getting close to staying at Fiorentina and signing a new contract, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media today.
As has been reported by Sky Sport, via FCInternews, the Serbian defender is now looking much more likely to stay with La Viola rather than move to a team such as Inter, Juventus or Atletico Madrid.
There was a meeting today between the agent of the defender and the club and that is where some progress was made towards him renewing his deal which runs out in 2023.
He is a very key part of the Fiorentina squad and they have been very keen to keep him. He had been linked heavily to Inter as a replacement for Milan Skriniar should he be sold to Paris Saint Germain.
Inter will be pursuing cheaper targets to add depth to the defensive part of the squad.
