Former AS Roma striker Roberto Pruzzo has said that Inter are the favourites to win the Scudetto because Romelu Lukaku is back, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
Speaking during a report on Radio Radio yesterday, via FCInter1908, the former AS Roma striker explained that the fact Inter have brought Romelu Lukaku back to the club from Chelsea means that they are automatically the favourites to win the Scudetto.
He clearly thinks very highly of the striker that scored so many goals for the Nerazzurri in his two years at the club before he left last summer for Chelsea in a €115 million deal.
“Inter are considered favourites for the Scudetto mainly because Lukaku is back. His return has given an incredible turnaround, despite the fact that the Nerazzurri already had excellent players in front of them. Now comes someone who should score three times as many goals as, for example, Edin Dzeko.”
He went on to explain that Inter have kept the squad from last season together apart from Croatian wingback Ivan Perisic and beyond that, they have strengthened the key departments of the squad.
“Moreover, they have consolidated the best players, losing only Perisic. For the rest, Marotta has reinforced all departments. We will see at the end of the market what happens. At the moment, however, it looks like the most complete group.”
