Marseille coach Igor Tudor has said that he liked what Alexis Sanchez did at Inter last season when the Chilean was on the pitch, according to a report in the Italian media.
Speaking during a recent press conference, via FCInternews, the Croatian coach who was the manager of Hellas Verona last season spoke very positively about his new forward.
He explained that he was impressed by the player’s performances for the Nerazzurri last season and that is why he is pleased to have him in the squad for his first season coaching in Ligue 1.
“He can play in all three positions in attack, it makes a difference because he is strong. There are no problems in that sense. He has always been a professional even playing little, then I liked him when he took the field last year with Inter. It will take some time to have him at his best, I think a month.”
He also paid the former Barcelona and Manchester United man a very big compliment by saying that in the training sessions so far, he has reminded him of Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I have only coached him twice, I have seen many things in common with Cristiano Ronaldo, such as dedication to work: they are comparable players from this point of view.
“Then everyone has their own career; they have spoken well of him, and I can only confirm after what I have seen.
“He’s a decent guy, someone who wants to do well and train. I’m very happy because he could be a reference point. He’ll be in the squad for the match with Nantes, then we’ll see how to use him.”
Inter had to pay Alexis Sanchez severance pay to make sure that they could stop paying his wages entire;y next season. He made sure to have the Marseille move lined up ready.
