Inter are looking at the likes of Borussia Dortmund’s Manuel Akanji, OGC Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo, and Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi as possible replacements for Andrea Ranocchia for this season.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the trio now comprise the main names on the Nerazzurri’s shortlist for one more defensive signing to back up Stefan de Vrij this season.
Inter do not have much more transfer business to do this summer, but they still are aiming to sign a defender with the right profile to replace Ranocchia who left to join newly-promoted Monza.
Acerbi remains a serious consideration as a low-cost signing who would have the right qualities to back up Stefan de Vrij at the heart of the back three.
Meanwhile, Akanji and Todibo have both emerged as younger options for the role, although it remains to be seen whether or not the budget would be available to move for either.
