Inter won their opening match of the Serie A season by beating Lecce 2-1 away, and in doing so they managed to do so for the fourth campaign running.
Last season Inter had beaten Genoa 4-0 on the opening day of the season, whilst in the two seasons before that they’d won 4-0 against Lecce and 4-3 against Fiorentina.
As football statistics account Opta noted in a tweet, this is the first time that the Nerazzurri have done this since the mid 1990s.
Their tweet reads, “4 – Inter have won four league seasonal debuts in a row for their first time since a streak of five, across 1993 and 1997. Belief.”
