Inter will have to work on improving their compactness between the lines as well as be more ruthless with their opportunities in front of goal compared to what they showed in their Serie A opener against Lecce.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who identify these as the two main areas in which improvement will be needed following their first match of the campaign.

Inter took the three points that they came for from their first outing in Serie A, but they didn’t necessarily do so in the most convincing fashion.

Despite controlling the majority of possession, the Nerazzurri never really settled into their rhythm and the shape of the team was disjointed, both in the formation of the starting eleven and as the match wore on and coach Simone Inzaghi changed the personnel.

Meanwhile, when the Nerazzurri did arrive in Lecce’s penalty area, they didn’t quite seem to have the nerves to find the back of the net, something which will have to be worked on especially considering that finishing woes were one of the more negative aspects of last season for Inter.
