Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji would renew his contract with the club if it meant he could then join Inter on loan, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by Il Giorno today, the Swiss defender is very keen on moving to Inter and there is a formula that could work.

Due to him being out of contract at the end of next season, Borussia Dortmund do not want him to leave on loan. If he did, they would not be able to collect a transfer fee for him at all.

They have said that they want at least €15 million for his services even though he is totally out of the picture when it comes to Edin Terzic’s project.

If he extended his contract, Inter could sign him on loan for one season and then they could include a mandatory or optional redemption for an agreed fee.
