Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi is still Inter’s third choice when it comes to a defensive signing and not just due to his age, according to a report in the Italian print media today.
As has been reported by Tuttosport today, the Nerazzurri have got three players that they could possibly sign to add more depth to the defence after the departure of Andrea Ranocchia to Monza on a free transfer.
Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea is 23 years old, Manuel Akanji from Borussia Dortmund is 27 years old, and then Francesco Acerbi is 34 years old.
The other issue for Inter is that they feel he is only capable of playing in the centre of the back three as a backup for Stefan de Vrij, whereas the other two options can play in any of the three defensive positions.
He could still be the one to join though as his transfer would be the easiest to arrange from a financial standpoint.
