Leicester City are getting ready to make a move for Inter-linked Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji before the closing of the transfer window.
This according to UK tabloid the Daily Mail, who report that the Foxes want the Swiss international to replace Wesley Fofana who looks set to join Chelsea in the next couple of days.
Inter have been chasing Akanji for a good part of the summer, with the 27-year-old one of the main names on their list to reinforce the backline following the departure of Andrea Ranocchia.
The Nerazzurri’s interest has not ended in Akanji despite the fact that they are set to miss out on him this summer and move for Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi instead, as they could still pursue him on a free transfer next summer should he stay at Dortmund.
However, the 27-year-old may well leave the Schwarzgelben before the transfer window closes, as Leicester are very keen on his signature as they eye up a player to replace Chelsea-bound Fofana.
