Italian journalist Matteo Marani believes that a key objective for Inter will be finding consistency in terms of style of play as well as results whilst getting the best out of their entire squad.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Marani emphasized the importance of remaining strong throughout a packed fixture list whilst also utilizing squad rotation in order to keep the players fresh.
Inter have already tapped into their squad fairly extensively since the start of the season, but they will have to do so much more across all the positions if they are to avoid serious fatigue given how condensed their fixture schedule is.
To this end, the Nerazzzurri could already have to start rotating and giving playing time to different members of the squad rather than relying only on the most tried-and-tested players from the usual starting eleven.
Marani argued as much, stating that “With so many matches in the lead-up to the World Cup, there’s little time for everyone, so rotations become fundamental. The important thing will be not to be a victim of rotations, you need consistency.”
For the Nerazzurri’s rotation, he said that “I think Dzeko should play quite a bit for the balance of the team and game management, I think it would only be right to involve him in the project.”
