Former AC Milan president Franco Carraro has said that the Milan City Council has promised a decision on the new stadium by the end of November, according to a report in the Italian print media.
Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former president was asked about the new stadium following the closing of RedBird Capita Group’s purchase of AC Milan from Elliott Management.
He stressed that the municipality have said when there will be news about the outcome of the public debate on the new San Siro and added that he is sure the new ownership knows that Milan is an efficient city.
“The City Council has promised a decision by November. Surely this new ownership knows that Milan is an efficient city, which has had an important urban development in recent years.”
There has been much annoyance from both Inter and AC Milan over the extended time frame around getting their new stadium into development.
One thing that has caused such delays is the takeover of AC Milan but that has now been completed.
