Inter defender Stefan de Vrij has been labelled as ‘disinterested’ by the Italian media after his poor display against AC Milan on Saturday evening.

As has been reported by L’Interista, there was plenty of criticism for the Dutch defender who has come out as one of the main scapegoats for Inter’s 3-2 defeat against the Rossoneri at San Siro.

The match finished 3-2 and the Inter defence was extremely leaky when compared to how it performed last season. They have now conceded eight goals in five games which is only less than Cremonese.

Stefan de Vrij was criticised for his attitude in that game and particularly for how little he seemed to challenge Rafael Leao for both of the Portuguese forward’s goals.

Due to this, he got very low ratings from the Italian press. La Gazzetta dello Spor, TMW and L’Interista gave him 4.5 out of 10, whilst Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport gave him 4/10.
