The Milan derby on Saturday had the third highest number of shots on goal out of all the derbies since the 2004/05 season.
The stat was shared by OptaPaolo who often follow up games with interesting stats. There were 37 shots in the 3-2 win for AC Milan on Saturday which is only less than a game in February 2009 which had 39 and a game in October 2006 where there was 41 shots.
Inter’s goals were scored by Marcelo Brozovic and Edin Dzeko.
37 – Total shots in this Derby: since 2004/05, only in two other Serie A matches between AC Milan and Inter have there been more: 39 in 15 February 2009 and 41 in October 2006. Electricity.#MilanInter pic.twitter.com/Zzqcrlp6BA
