AC Milan New Boy Malick Thiaw: “Being At San Siro For Derby Against Inter Was An Incredible Experience”

Newly-signed AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw feels that being at the San Siro for the Rossoneri’s derby clash with Inter last weekend was an incredible experience unlike any other.

Speaking in a press conference at his unveiling, as reported by FCInterNews, the 21-year-old gave his thoughts on the atmosphere at the Milan derby, stating that it was just about the most incredible match in which to make his debut on the Rossoneri bench.

Thiaw did not take to the pitch in the derby on Saturday, but the German-Finn was part of the squad, having completed his move from Schalke to join Milan during the last couple of days of the summer transfer window last month.

Being in the stadium, the 21-year-old got his first taste of what it is like to be involved in one of the showpiece occasions of Italian football, and was lucky enough to see his team secure a 3-2 win in a back-and-forth match.

“I made my debut at San Siro in a game against the toughest opponent with great quality,” he said of the match.

“It was an incredible experience, being there in a sold-out stadium,” Thiaw added. “Without taking anything away from the Schalke fans, it was a huge experience for me. I hope it was a good omen given how well we played in the derby.”
