Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has no intention of making a return to Chelsea after one season on loan at the Nerazzurri despite the sacking of Thomas Tuchel as head coach by the Premier League club.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old’s stance remains the same as it always has been and that Tuchel’s departure from Chelsea changes nothing.

The poor relationship between Lukaku and Tuchel was well-known, and had been widely reported to be one of the main factors that led to the striker feeling that his situation in the English capital was untenable and pushing for a return to Inter.

Technically, the Gazzetta notes, Lukaku is “on parole” back at Inter as his contract is still owned by Chelsea, but according to the newspaper, he is very unlikely to want a return to Chelsea at the end of the season irrespective of the fact that Tuchel is gone.
