Former Torino, Italy, and Salernitna coach Gian Piero Ventura feels that right now Napoli and AC Milan are the favourites to win the Serie A title ahead of Inter.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Crs, Ventura gave the view that Inter have too many issues in their team to be able to keep up with the Rossoneri and the Partenopei at the top, also noting that he feels Roma cannot sustain a title challenge either.
After a few matches played in Serie A, things are clearer regarding the Scudetto picture than they were before the season started, even if there’s still an enormous amount of football left to go.
Some aspects of how Inter have played have confirmed their status among the pre-season title favourites, but the two losses to Lazio and Milan laid bare the problems that could hold them back, whereas Napoli and Milan have comparatively started out showing some very strong form.
Ventura predicted that “It will be a two-hoce race between Napoli and Milan, if they can keep going until the end with determination and consistency. The others are not as competitive as they are; Inter still have a number of defects and gaps, and Roma aren’t competitive.”
