Inter defender Milan Skriniar feels that the speculation about his future and his contract situation doesn’t affect his commitment on the pitch, and that he will give everything as long as he’s a Nerazzurri player.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, the 27-year-old addressed the speculation about his future and emphasized that, regardless of what happens, he feels that the fans can trust him to give 100% for the shirt.

Skriniar’s current contract expires at the end of June 2023, meaning that he could hypothetically leave on a free transfer at the end of the current season.

This has made the Slovakian’s future the subject for some speculation and rumours, although for his part the defender is annoyed by how much it has been talked about.

Skriniar responded to the rumours that have been going around regarding his future, stating that “Everyone’s talked about it but me, and I’m still not speaking about it.”

“I’m an Inter player and I will always give everything, as I’ve always done in the past,” he stressed. “I’m focused on the team, there were rumours but I was focused on coming back as soon as possible after a fairly serious injury that I had.”

“I was focused on coming back as soon as possible and helping the team,” he continued.

Asked about a contract extension, he replied simply that “The fans know me after all these years.”

Of the team’s recent form, Skriniar said that “I’m 100% sure that we’ll be able to get back on our feet, we’re a strong team – we must be united even in difficult moments.”

“False rumours come from outside after a defeat,” he continued, “we must be more united on the pitch and suffer together – we must face difficult moments together as a group.”
