Key roles were played in Inter’s 1-0 win against Torino by several of the main leaders within the squad, and it is now Milan Skriar who is the one remaining key man in the team yet to really make his presence felt.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who note that Samir Handanovic, Nicolo Barella, Marcelo Brozovic, and Lautaro Martinez all stepped up in various ways to secure the hard-fought win.

Captain Handanovic had been arguably Inter’s man of the match by keeping the team in the match with a string of fine saves, whilst players tipped for the future captaincy were also among the main architects of the win.

Martinez did not get on the scoresheet or bag an assist, but the 25-year-old showed real leadership as his intensity and workrate dragged the team up the pitch, unsettled the Granata backline, and set the tone for the Nerazzurri’s late push.

Meanwhile, Barella and Brozovic hardly had their best games, but even if the performances were not befitting of two players who have been key midfielders in the team for multiple seasons, they did show their inherent quality when it mattered most to link up for Inter’s late winner.

As Tuttosport, the one key player within the Inter squad who has yet to rise up to the level that his reputation would suggest is Skriniar, with the Slovakian fine against Torino but hardly dominant at the back.

The 27-year-old is another player tipped for the future captaincy at Inter and has been both an outstanding performer and a leader within the team for a number of seasons, and the team will be hoping that he can show why soon as all of Handanovic, Martinez, Barella, and Brozovic did against the Granata.
