Inter defender Milan Skriniar feels that it’s never his place to speak publicly about transfer rumours surrounding his future.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League group stage clash with Viktoria Plzen, as reported by FCInterNews, the 27-year-old emphasized that he is only interested in relaying concrete news about his future, whilst he also gave his thoughts ahead of tomorrow’s match.

Skriniar has been the subject of transfer rumours for much of his time at Inter, though perhaps never more loudly than this summer when the Slovakian was widely reported to be a priority target for Paris Saint-Germain.

For his part, however, the former Sampdoria defender does not want to weigh in on this kind of speculation, and prefers to focus on the fact that he is an Inter player.

Asked about the transfer links, he said that “I’ve never talked about that stuff and I prefer for it to stay that way. We came here to play this match and I don’t want to talk about my future or my contract, I don’t think it’s the right time and place.”

“When there’s news you’ll hear it from me and nowhere else, but I never speak like that, and I prefer it to stay that way,” he added.

On playing in the Czech Republic as a Slovakian, Skriniar said that “It will be a special match, Slovakia is closer Plzen than to Italy, relatives and friends will be there. Many guys I know play in Plzen, it will be special.”

Of the dangers posed by this Viktoria team, he said that “We’ve seen how the team has progressed under this coach, physically they’re very strong and well-prepared.”

“They operate quickly on the counterattack and we will have to be careful of that,” the defender added.

And of the mood in the locker room after Saturday’s Serie A win over Torino, Skriniar said that “It wasn’t easy after the derby and then Bayern, but we managed to speak freely within the locker room. That certainly helped us to win our last match.”
